The Details
Why the Base Matters Most
The surface is what you see, but the base is what lasts. We excavate to the right depth, compact the subgrade, add and compact a gravel base, set forms and place reinforcement before any concrete arrives.
Middle Tennessee clay holds water, so we also look at grading and drainage. A slab that sheds water and sits on a firm base is far less likely to crack, sink or heave.
Once the concrete is placed and finished, color is applied, release is dusted on and patterned mats are pressed in a planned sequence. Then control joints are cut, the slab cures and a sealer is applied.
